WORKING SAFELY OFF LADDERS
Accidents working off ladders account for a number of deaths every year. Even more accidents happen in the home and in domestic situations.
USING A LADDER SAFELY...
Ensure that the ladder extends more than 1m above the work area.
Ladder needs to be secured at the top to prevent it tipping or sliding off contact point.
Check that the ladder locking pin is in good condition and secured.
Make sure your working position is between the vertical stiles.
Always have at least three points of contact with the ladder (2 hands, one leg, or one hand two legs).
Ladder base should be positioned on a level surface and secured at the bottom to prevent it tipping or sliding off contact point.
